WhatsApp Audio Assignment - Artificial Intelligence Assessment

Image
When I received this assessment on my WhatsApp audio presentation about giving compliments in English, I’ll admit—my first reaction was to cringe at my mistakes. Seeing phrases like “get your emotions out” marked as incorrect (it should’ve been “keep your emotions in check”) made me realize how much nuance exists in English expressions. But as I read through the feedback, I began appreciating how this evaluation actually highlighted my progress. The 8/10 in Content showed I could structure meaningful material, while the 7.5 in Language proved I’m using complex grammar—even if imperfectly. This assessment didn’t just point out flaws; it gave me a roadmap to turn my B2-level skills into something sharper.   WHATSAPP AUDIO ASSIGNMENT - ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ASSESSMENT Here's my assessment of your presentation at a B2 level: Content (8/10) - Your presentation covers the topic of giving compliments in English, providing some useful tips and examples. - However, some parts feel a bit d...

MEXICO CITY TRIP WITH FRIENDS

Image
I never thought a simple trip to Mexico City for a video game conference would teach me so much about life—and air pollution. When my friends and I planned this getaway, we imagined non-stop gaming, cool merch, and maybe some sightseeing. What we got instead was an adventure filled with unexpected twists: me getting sick from the city’s infamous smog, getting lost in unfamiliar streets, and learning the hard way that not every souvenir is worth buying. But you know what? Despite the chaos—or maybe because of it—this trip became one of my most memorable experiences. It wasn’t the conference itself that stuck with me; it was the unplanned moments in between that truly mattered. A MEXICO CITY TRIP WITH FRIENDS (didn't went as expected) One experience I had to claim was going to Mexico City, because I had to go with all my friends and I to a video game conference. It only happened a month ago. So we went to Mexico City. One thing I took into consideration was the pollution. I was told ...

6.4 GETTING IT WRONG - Speaking task

Image
I remember this assignment as one of the most shocking in all the Target Language V 's odyssey. This was the time we really started producing, you know? The speaking skill was put to the test, and almost all of us... failed. I felt bad for my speech. I hesitated in some parts, and I don't want to talk about the fluency, that was my biggest mistake... A flight to nowhere My dumbest mistake happened last year. My cousin's wedding was in Denver, and my boyfriend and I , who live in Phoenix, decided to make a trip out of it. I planned everything carefully, fly to Las Vegas on Friday, spend the night there, then take a morning flight to Denver on Saturday. The wedding was at 4pm, and we would fly back home on Sunday. It all seemed like a perfect plan. At first, everything went smoothly. We landed in Vegas on time, checked into our hotel, and had an amazing night out. The next morning, we arrived at the airport 2 hours early, grabbed coffee, and waited by the gate. At 10 and a ha...

OUTDOOR VACATIONS - Essay

Image
When I first arrived in Tuxtepec, I thought I'd made a terrible mistake. The heat hit me like a wall and I actually Googled "can humidity suffocate you?" on my phone. But now, looking back, I realize this trip taught me more than just how to survive tropical weather. I noticed something interesting: struggling with a new environment felt exactly like struggling with a new language, you must take a grip, relax, and go on. At first everything is uncomfortable and confusing, but then... I started to understand as I said. The fish vendors shouting prices, my cousins making fun of us (my brother and I), even the sizzle of meat on the grill... these sounds became my daily "listening practice." Without realizing it, I was learning. Wild Vacations in Tuxtepec Oaxaca - Outdoor Vacations (Essay) I must say that adapting to a new environment is, for first instance, uncomfortable, baffling, and shocking, but you have to make an effort in understand how to cope with it. Let ...

HOW TO IMPROVE OUR ENGLISH? - Summary

Image
The teacher told us to see a video about tips for improving our English, here's how I improved in some aspects of my knowledge and skills, I considered also to do a list  about few tips that worked to me. By writing this task, I felt relieved to know enough about some tricks for improving in my English. The key here is the following, BE AWARE of what you can take advantage on. Find those spaces in the speech, that questions that reside in your mind, and ask to someone who knows more than you in English, or with an AI. How to improve our English? - Summary Haven't you struggled with improving your English? Haven't you wanted to speak fluently once and for all? Have you planned a method in which speaking would be easier and instead of that it becomes into something stressful and difficult? Well... if that's so, here are some suggestions, tips, and overall, anecdotes that surely will help you to reach until a good level. Let me tell you that these tips have helped me to bo...

ENVIRONMENTAL CITIZENSHIP - Essay

Image
In this one, we students p reviously had a meeting with professors and a sort of manager about this. We were assigned t o research and read about environmental citizenship to understand what it is, and what it involves. Based on that, we prepared a critical explanation each about what we thought, its drawbacks and any proposal in mind and even a friend of mine came back to my mind, it worked for me to give an example as a resolution. Plus, my speech had to last between five or eight minutes. I tried to keep in mind that what I was planning to say will be as important as the way you express it. I couldn't articulate a word well because of the lack of complete confidently . This assignment made me feel a little bit stressed, but when I read it... looks good enough to me. ENVIRONMENTAL CITIZENSHIP - Writing essay / ɪnˌvaɪrənˈment( ə) l ˈsɪtəz ə nʃɪp /   it refers to the commitment and responsibility of individuals as citizens to promote environmental sustainability by actively partici...

3.2 THINGS AND EMOTIONS - Presentation

Image
When you do a presentation, you are willing to do it at least well enough, but you want to give a really good impression, something memorable to your spectators. I decided to introduce every example in this presentation with a great, funny, and overall, meaningful phrase; I thought through which phrase could fit in every sentence, for first instance my creativity wasn't in its peak, but it wasn't until I saw a pic of a road and suddenly started humming the lyrics of Country Roads, I recalled them very well and found it very funny, "for sure I make an impression." I said to myself. So, keep in mind that when you see them, try not to laugh, because I couldn't. Lo and behold! THINGS AND EMOTIONS - Non-Restrictive Relative Clauses (Presentation) I really enjoyed the process of thinking carefully how to make the jokes in this presentation, actually, I got a great idea, as a future teacher I want to assign something similar to the students, the goal will be: "Mak...

2.2 EXTREME LIFE - Nature's "Tough Cookies"

Image
S peaking in front of the people is a little bit hard to me, the reason is the following: I tend to say more things than the necessary or confuse words momentarily. Yeah, I consider myself good enough in writing (English doesn't count at all), but when speaking even I could say odd things... yep, that's me, something to cope with, but by doing this transcription, I can analyze my performing, even if it's the worst you could ever imagine. NATURE'S "TOUGH COOKIES" - The Natural World (audio) We often discuss how to preserve endangered species of wildlife but rarely talk about the opposite side of nature: creatures that can survive in extremely difficult environments . So here are four examples of nature's "tough cookies." Nicaragua's Masaya Volcano is one of the most active volcanoes in Central America. Poisonous gas rises from the volcano. It's an absolutely awful place to live. Yet hundreds of small, green parrots have made it their ...

2.1 DEEP OCEAN OR DEEP SPACE? - Space and Ocean Exploration

Image
Transcribing this lively debate between Ronnie Jones and Johanna Flores on gave me a front-row seat to one of humanity's most pressing questions, should we prioritize exploring the cosmos as NASA does, or the depths of our ocean? These three guys talk about the wonders of the two most intriguing Sci-Fi worlds, the ocean and space. I like the idea of visiting new planets and biomas, its very interesting. In the other hand we have our very planet, it's not like I prefer living in another one, but in second thought we must prioritize taking care of Earth, our sweet home; yes, maybe there out is the possibility of a planet with enough oxygen and resources, but what if not? That doesn't matter because we have one planet to explore and take care, specifically our oceans could give us a lot of information, even we would be able to find new creatures, even the origin of the species, and, consequently, a great advance in medicine or biology. SPACE AND OCEAN EXPLORATION (audio)  Host...

1.4 BACK TO BASICS - Reviving Forgotten Skills

Image
In this work I thought about the identity, yes, this is about our identity as family, community, or even culture. Think through about your grandmother, it might happen that she doesn't follows a chicken stew recipe in the conventional way, maybe she adds an ingredient or removes another; that's no longer her lovely recipe, and more concerning, you couldn't pass the torch to your descendants because you don't know how something that identifies your family is done. We have to revive some traditional skills, or why not? create new ones, something to remember... REVIVING FORGOTEN SKILLS - "The Art of Baking" (Writing) In today's fast-paced, technology-driven world, many traditional skills have faded from convention into oddity. Where is the kid learning from pops how to repair anything around the house? What about grandma teaching to the youngest ones how to mend the seams on the clothes? These kinds of skills are being left in oblivion, and should be alarming...

1.2 MEMORY LANE - The Time Machine... in my Living Room

Image
Making this pronunciation practice made me feel a little bit stressed, I mean, it's good to practice the fluency, here we had to make a whole speech about this. Until that moment I still felt that my pronunciation was very good, and I was wrong. I committed a lot of mistakes when speaking because I confused some words with their homophones, I hesitated and did constant lexical chunks. But I had the opportunity to make its transcription on my notebook, even I was able to see my results. I crossed out and colored my mistakes on the transcription for better self-understanding. THE TIME MACHINE... in my living room (transcription) Do you ever binge-watch TV shows and feel like you've taken a time machine to a different place and time? I just watched Stranger Things, which takes place in the 1980s . It was like going back in time to my childhood. Remember those bikes with banana-shaped seats? One of the boys in the series rides one, just like the one I used to ride to school eve...

Difficult changes - My first class as a Teacher

Image
As the title suggests, my experience about being a teacher is narrated here. I must emphasize the fact that, despite it was my first time working (especially as a teacher), I didn't chicken out. I simulated a face of an experienced teacher and cope with it. I enjoyed writing about this because it remembered me to my first class, it wasn't too bad, nor the best, but I felt such a relief knowing that I had taught a real class, we all start somewhere, don't we? MY FIRST CLASS AS A TEACHER - Reflection It's known that being a teacher is a very important and responsible profession because every detail matters, from your vocal tone and self-assured presence, to even your upright posture; this helps you to demonstrate to the students who is the one in the top of the hierarchy into the class. From my point of view, people tend to create this slightly, idealized concept of the teacher who is always to educate the students, and that's partially true, but education is formed b...

1.4 BACK TO BASICS - Coming Around Again

Image
When the teacher had told us to the students to listen to a dictation narrated by Arturo  (a good classmate of us),  our assigned written was a little bit confusing to write, I mean, we tried to understand what Arturo was trying to say, it was a shared fault. He had some slips in his pronunciation, plus, we didn't have a well-developed keen ear and that's why I consider this type of exercise benefic for both the speaker and the listener. I did like it. COMING AROUND AGAIN (written by dictation) When I was a kid, I used to spend weekdays with my grandpa and grandma while my mom was at the  work. I' d sometimes help ed my grandma make her special oatmeal cookies. To be honest, I used to be better at eating them than I was at baking them. They were so good! But in those days, more often than not, I'd watch my grandfather in his workshop dash - actually their garage - where he spent most mornings. He was an amateur inventor, and he would take all   the old piece...

1.1 LIFE CHANGES - Coping with the Challenges

Image
When I wrote this work, I felt a little bit nostalgic, sad, and proud of myself. My father taught me in the mean, rude way a variety of things. I cannot judge his way of teaching, nor do I mean that, I'm just saying he taught me to not chicken out or give up that easy with things and keep going despite of the unexpected odds, and that is good, I'm certainly a tough cookie. Describe a time when you had to face a significant change in your life. How did you cope with it? Back in the time, I remember working for the first time as a gardener. My father took me with him to his occasional second job to teach me how the work is done. I can testify that gardening is not just another work, you have to be strong enough, be in the same position  for a long time, be aware to not cutting any plant, so it is not as easy as it might sound. I previously mentioned the importance to develop strongness in this job, specifically t he lower body as legs, feet, abdominals, calves, and even the lower...
